Habatastic Was A Huge Success!

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

I wanted to take a minute and say thank you to everyone who came out last night to the Sandbar Beach club to support the Johnston County Habitat For Humanity.  The event was, “Habitastic” and there were many people who worked very hard to raise money for this worthy cause.  Thank you to the Johnston County Association of Realtors for all their planning and support, thank you to The Sandbar Beach Club for hosting the event and thank you to Mike Steward, Blackley’s Printing, The Coffee Mill, Pine Hollow and Riverwood Golf Club, Cresent State Bank, North Tower Band, Coastline and everyone in attendance.  The silent auction was also a success with the quality of items, some lucky people took home.  I hope I didn’t leave anyone out, because everyone played a part to make this event such a success.  Now, what can I say about the bands last night.

North Tower, you guys were great, the song selction was just what the crowd needed and the Manhattans tune you covered, WOW!  Now folks as I’ve said before when COASTLINE is in the house hold on, the energy is through the roof.  The guys lay it down everytime their on stage!  Closing the event out last night with the crowd still ready for more!  Thank fellows for helping the Johnston County Habitat for Humanity.

The Sandbar along with Carlton and Brandy also kicked in three individual shag lessons for the raffle.  Carlton and Brandy are the shag instructors for the Sandbar and we want to say thank you for your support.  Ok, I think I’ve covered the majority of the event.  If I left something out let me know, I want to make sure everyone gets mentioned.  From the smallest part to the hardest work, everybody pulling together made the event a huge success.

The owners and management of the Sandbar Beach Club want to extend a special thank you for everyone who attended last night.  If you have an organization or a group that would like to hold a similar event please let the manager of the Sandbar, Steve Rushin know and he will help you in making your event a success.

Tonight at the Sandbar is the after party!  Garner’s Volunteer Fireman’s Day in downtown Garner is today and the Fantastic Shakers go on Stage at 4:00pm.  And that’s right, the after party is at the Sandbar Beach Club with yours truly, The Little Man Of Beach Music.  Doors open at 7:00 with all you requests and favorite beach, rhythm and blues.  See Ya tonight!

On yesterday’s blog, I announced this Friday night at the Sandbar Beach Club, was”Habitastic” which is a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity.  This event is sponsored by Johnston County Association of Realtors and all proceeds go to help build a house for Habitat for Humanity.  I just got the word last night in addition to food, door prizes, raffles, the Little Man of Beach Music, and the legendary North Tower Band the Sandbar has added to the ticket the mighty COASTLINE BAND.  Now need I say more, the party is set.  Folks as I always say, do yourself a favor and don’t miss this show.  Members and Realtors get in for $10.00 and guest get in for $15.00.  Where can you get a DJ, two bands, food, a chance to win prizes and help a most worthy cause for this admission price.  Not to mention the quality of the entertainment.  Make plans, get a babysitter, call your friends and let’s make it a date.  Folks I will see you there.  If you need any additional information call me 910-385-7424 (shag).  “It’s Coastline Time”

First Shagtastic was a Success

Monday, October 1st, 2007

If you were not in attendance, you missed a great event!  This past Sunday was the first of many Shagtastic Sunday’s at the Sandbar Beach Club in Clayton.  WOW, what a day!  The Fantastic Shakers, Band of Oz and Big Daddy Rhythm and the Heavyweights along with yours truly playing up to 9:00.  The crowd was big, the music was what we love and the food was perfect.  Folks take it from me yesterday could not have been better.  Being the event was such a success there will be many more, and we want your input.  The Sandbar likes feedback from the members and guest because they want you to be a part of your club.  Find out when the next Shagtastic will be by logging on the the Sandbar link located on the home page of my website.

Get ready for the Mid-Week Shag Party this Wed. night with Earl Dawkins and the Entertainers.  With their new song, “I Know The Inside Story” this group is a must see.  The Mid-Week Shag Party has become one of the most talked about weekly event in Beach Music.  Ladies if you are not a member sign up, on Wed. nights Lady members get in free before 8:00 and half price after 8:00.  There’s always drink specials and the Sandbar has the best dance floor on the East Coast.

Thursday night is Thirsty Thursday with DJ Butch Halplin from Carolina Sounds.  Butch is one of the great DJ’s in the business and is sure to put on a show.  This is a great time to come out shag and have a great time with the best in Beach, Rhythm and Blues.

Friday night is Habitastic, a huge fund raiser for the Habitat of Humanity.  All proceeds go to the organization and we’re expecting a big night with a great crowd.  The event is open to the public with door prizes and raffles.  The legendary North Tower Band will be on stage live and I’ll be spinning the tunes.  We invite everyone to come and enjoy the show.  Doors open at 7:00.  I will post more on this event Thursday morning.

On Saturday we encourage everyone to go to Fireman’s Day in downtown Garner with the Fantastic Shakers.  The band starts at 4:00 with great food, music and fun.  THEN THE AFTER PARTY IS AT THE SANDBAR.  That’s right I will be playing form 7:00 until and the word is already out.  Many people made their plans yesterday to be there Saturday night.  It will be total request with all your favorite new hits and the ones from the past we love so much.  I look forward to seeing you!

Also, tomorrow night Oct. 2nd starts a new month of Shag Lessons at the Sandbar with Carlton and Brandy.  The basic class starts at 7:00 and intermediate at 8:00.  Carlton and Brandy teaches their classes where anyone can learn.  The steps are broke down and they work with couples and individuals on a one on one basis.  You don’t need a partner to attend, individuals are welcome.  The classes are $40.00 per person for the entire month.  If you just want to learn so you can dance at social events or you want to become a novice, Carlton and Brandy can get you there.

Ok, as you can see I will be at the Sandbar Wed. night, Friday night and Saturday night.  Make plans to be with the, “Little Man Of Beach Music” for the Mid-Week Shag Party, Habitastic and the Shakers After Party.  I have ordered another shipment of T-Shirts and I will have them with me.  I sold out of the first shipment in one week so get them before they are gone.  The Little Man Of Beach Music Tee is the hottest shirt in the Business and I got your size.
