Hello everyone I trust your weekend was great, the weather was perfect!!  Lat Friday night we traveled up to Creedmore and played the rehersal Dinner for Cliff Brame and Leanne McInnis at South Granville Country Club.  This was a great evening.  Everybody danced and had a good time and oh yea, the hospitality was the best.  Congratulations to Cliff and Leanne.

Hey The Little Man of Beach Music was off Saturday night, so we took advantage of it and joined Barry Hooker and his family for Andy and Shannon’s wedding in Carolina Beach.  The wedding was on the beach with Little John Thompson playing the music and Jim Quick officiating.  Then over to the club house for the reception and Jim Quick and Coastline.  Barry I tip my hat to you, this was a first class engagement and I know everybody enjoyed themselves.  Thanks for a wonderful night.

We left Carolina Beach and headed down to Myrtle Beach for the Live remote at Fillet’s with 94.9 the Surf.  I want to say thank you for everyone who came out, was tuned in or logged on to www.949thesurf.com.  We could not asked for a better day, the weather was perfect and we had a packed house.  The food at Fillet’s was unbelievable.  Here’s the good news, I’ll be back at Fillet’s doing the live remote for the next two Sunday’s from 4pm until 8pm.  So if you want to get out on Sunday afternoon and come sit on the deck, listen to some great Beach Music, eat some of the best food anywhere and not get home to late, come out and Join us.  Fillet’s is located on Sea Mountain Hwy next to the Swing Bridge in North Myrtle Beach.  But if you can’t make it just tune in to 94.9 the Surf FM or log on to www.949thesurf.com.  Also go to the surf’s website this week and read all about the GOSPEL TRAIN program on Sunday Mornings.  The information should be up in a couple of days.  It’s big news and I’m excited.  Until next time, always remember, Dance Like No-body’s Watching!!!!

Fall Field Day took place last Wedensday at Sampson Community College and I want to say thank you for the hospitality and to Joy Rogers who hired me for the entertainment. It was fun and so many students participated. Also, thank you Len for all the help and support.

It was an Oasis Weekend and it was great. Friday night was COUNTRY, ROCK and RETRO at the Oasis and it was the party that has become the “Must GO To Party Of The Month”. It’s just one of those nights that’s everybody unwinds, sings and has a grat time. And then on Saturday Hobton High School Class of 1993 got together for their 15 year class reunion. I want to sy thank you to the Kimbro’s for having me and I know everyone had a good night. As always the Bartenders were the best and the food, unbelievable.

I want to thank everyone who nominated the “Little Man of Beach Music” for the 2008 Carolina Beach Music Awards. I was nominated in two categories, Club & Mobile DJ and Internet Radio Show along with Keith Houston and SouthernSoul.com. I’m very excited to be in these categories and really appreciate all your support. The awards weekend is the second weekend in November. If your not a member, you can’t vote this year. Can you ever forgive me….I have to use that same ole excuse….BUSY, BUSY, BUSY…but hey that’s a good thing!!!! The ending half of August was great. Playing in Greensboro, Apex and Clinton. I want to say thank you to the Frahm’s for having me at Sedge Field Country Club, they’re party was unbelievable, the guest, the view and oh yea, the Lamborghini!!!!! This was a great group of people and they knew how to party. Thanks Chad! I also want to thank Rock Kershaw for having me at Historical Downtown Apex for Shaggin at the Depot. This was a huge success and the Bass Lake Area Shag Society played a major roll! The BLASS is some of the nicest people I’ve ever met and they know how to have fun with the dance. They did a great demonstration for the town of Apex and also gave free shag lessons to everyone in attendance. Thanks Guys!!!!! What can I say about COUNTRY, ROCK and Retro at the Oasis Oyster Bar in Clinton. This was a PARTY…..of course everyone knows on the third Friday of the month we have shag night at the Oasis but when the fourth Friday of the Month rolls around it’s sing along and party time to the songs everyone knows. As always thank you to Keith, Beth, Mark, Chester and the Staff at Oasis Oyster Bar in Clinton. And by the way if you have not had dinner at the Oasis, you don’t know what you’re missing. The best food around for many many miles. Great job guys.

NOW FOR SEPTEMBER…..WOW it was huge and very busy to say the least!! YES oh Yes Mr. Cranberry Got Married. I want to say congratulations to Aaron and Brooke Minnich. The wedding was on the beach the same weekend tropical storm Hanna came in. But believe it or not the wedding was perfect and the reception was one for the record books (in more than one way). Then Comes SOS Fall Migration and I’m still trying to recover. Yes oh Yes I was playing in the Back Room (Family Room) at Fat Harold’s with my Aunt Brenda (the Best bartender in the World) This was a great week, you get to see all your beach music loving friends from everywhere and everyone comes together for one reason…..the music. I was at Fat Harold’s the first Friday night of SOS, Sunday night, and Closed the Back room on Monday Night. Then on Tuesday The “Insane” Chad Sain and myself along with King Tyrone and the Graveyard Ramblers hosted the Ocean Drive Happens Party at HOTO’S. Despite the rain it was the party of the week. If you were there you will remember it for a lifetime. Phil, Bonnie, Becky and Capt. Crain I love you and Chad you tha Man Bro!! On the Last Friday of SOS was the KHP Release Party and this was the best ever. Keith Houston with KHP, WOW all the artists were great!!! Thanks for all you do for the industry. NOW FOR THE BIG NEWS…….The “Little Man of Beach Music” has joined Carolina’s Beach Music and Classic Hit Station 94.9 The Surf. Oh Yea… I joined Ray Scott at Pete’s Landing on Wed. of SOS for the 94.9 Beach Party Live Remote and then again on Sunday At Fillet’s. I just want to say thank you to the owners of 94.9 Harvey and Selene for bringing me on board. Also to Ray, Tedd, Billy and all the Surf team, I look forward to working with such a great group of people. I will keep everyone posted on when I will be on the air and if you can’t pick the show up on the radio you can log on at www.949thesurf.com.

This month is flying by!!  I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July…everyone in Clinton was “Magnetized”.  Oh yeah, the Magnificence’s Band was great at the Annual Fourth of July Celebration at the Clinton Parks and Recreation at Royal Lane Park.  The crowd loved them and their new CD is great, be looking for it on Southern Soul dot com. 

July 5th I was back in the Shag Club of all Shag Clubs………Fat Harold’s.  I played the back room and it was like always, “The Best”.  It was good to see all my friends and hang out with the Fat Man!

The third Friday of the month has got here quick, this Friday Night I will be at the Oasis Oyster Bar for the Monthly Shag Night and I would love to have you and your friends come out and join us.  Always remember, come early and have dinner at the Sandpiper or of course the Oasis Oyster Bar, you won’t be disappointed.  Keep your receipt and get in free for shaggin’ from 9 until 1 with the Little Man of Beach Music.

I’m headed down to the coast Saturday night for the Coastal Shag Club and can’;t wait to see all of the members for this new organization.  I hope to see a lot of members show up from the SOB’s (Society of Brunswick Shaggers).

I’ve got some huge news to tell you about coming up in a couple of days.  I can’t let it leak out yet, but hold on because for some of you it’s BIG news!!!!!!  Stay tuned!!!!!!!

It’s close, one of the best holiday’s of the year.  It’s Summer Time (sounds like a chairmen of the Board Song) and Independents Day.  The Flags, hot dogs, pizza, fire works and THE MUSIC.  Everyone come out to Royal Lane Park in Clinton for the Annual Clinton Parks and Recreation Fourth of July Celebration.  Yours truly will start playing around 3:00 with many attractions for all the kids.  There will be plenty of food and drinks and the MAGNIFICENTS will come on stage at 6:00pm.  These guys are GOOD and you need to come check’em out.  They’re all the way from Burlington and their one of a kind.  I pulled some strings and got to play, so don’t miss it!!!!

Saturday we’re on the way the Family Room!!! That’s right the back room at FAT HAROLD’S 8pm until close.  July Fourth weekend, Fat Harold’s, The “Little Man of Beach Music”, you do the math……  If you can make it, be there, you won’t be disappointed. 

We headed out to Carolina Beach this past Friday to play at the Carolina Beach Club in of course, for a fundraiser for the 2008 Riverfest Shag Contest in Wilmington coming up October 4th.  We always have a great time at the Carolina Beach Club, this is neat place.  If you’ve not been plan a night and go check them out.  It’s upstairs above the Mexican restaurant as you get in the main part of Carolina Beach.  Fran, Johnny and Julie will make sure you have what you need and make you feel at home.  We raised a lot of money, it was good to see everyone again, Barry Hooker and all his gang, Gary Stonestreet, Lloyd, Eddie Baker,it goes on and on.  And my yes my family came and enjoyed the evening with us, Phil, Bonnie, Bill and Becky.  I didn’t start the party until I see their faces.  Congratulations to Phil White for winning the Cheese Cake and Becky Crain for winning the Mike Penny Print.  Thanks for you guys helping out and it was GREAT to see you.  I will be letting everyone know a little more about the shag contest coming up in October at Riverfest in a few weeks.

We had a wedding Saturday at Lakewood Country Club for Brandon Taylor and Victoria Strock.  The wedding went great and they danced all night.  Congratulations to you guys and best wishes.

And then the Big One and Sunday!  The benefit for Billy Scott at the Regency was a huge success!!!  The entertainment schedule was FULL.  Thanks to all the performers and DJ’s who donated their time and and all the people who volunteered to help in the days activities.  I know Billy Scott was touched by the attendance and all the donations.  Their was to many people to mention names but It was like a Club Faces Reunion!!!!  WOW, let’s do something like this again!!

Just wanted to drop a quick note and let everyone know how much I enjoyed this past weekend.  Friday night we started at the Oasis Oyster Bar and once again it was a night of great food and music.  Want to say thank you to Mike and Annette Sills for your support and I’ve got one question, Where Is The Sugar Britches Shag Club?????? 

The 40th Annual National Hollering Contest was great all the way up to the end.  There was many entertainers, good food, events for the kids and yes some HOLLERING!!!  Congratulations to Larry Jackson taking home the title once again!  Also I tip my hat to all the Spivey Corner’s Volunteer Fire Department, all the staff and help and to Aaron Jackson and Wayne Edwards.  The event was a great Success!!!

I want to say thanks once again for the hospitality and great time I had playing for the Bass Lake Area Shag Society at the Varina Sports Bar on Sunday Evening!!  This is always a great time with some of the best folks around.  And let me say the Varina Sports Bar has a new Chef that is unbelievable, Rebecca and I really enjoyed the food.   WOW, if you are looking someone to cater an event and you want some REAL food, call David Peraza at 919-552-5748.  This is not your normal everyday food, this is professional cooking at it’s best.
