Hello Friends, yes you heard it right, Clayton, NC is back with your’ “Little Man of Beach Music” on Wednesday nights.  The location, Sinner and Saints Saloon www.sinnersandsaintssaloon.com  it’s the same location of the Sandbar, “get Your Weekly Shag Fix” and come and join me.  This Wednesday night March 11th I will be playing all your Favorites and request. Here’s the deal…..The owners of Sinners And Saints, along with my good friend Danny Byrd has brought back the beach music magic to Clayton by opening the doors of Sinners and Saints to all us Shaggers.  The club is one of the nicest and most accommodating facilities I’ve ever played in and the Dance floor is Huge!!!!  The First Wednesday of the month will be, “live” Beach Music with your favorite Bands and your Little Man, and the remaining Wednesdays of the Month with The best in Beach with yours truly.  Danny has Byrd is a resident of Clayton, NC and wants to see Beach Music become a weekly event for all of us who love to dance.  He’s committed to this as long as we support Wednesday night and he can break even.  Let’s spread the word and make Wednesday nights at Sinners and Saints our weekly Shag fix!!!!  If you need directions just visit the website and if you have any question you can call me at 910-385-7424.  I look forward to seeing you this Wednesday and playing all your request.  LET”S MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!!

Wow What a Week!!!!

The, “Beach Music Cruise” is over and the memories will live on forever!!!!  For all of you who were there, you were a part of the Biggest Beach Music Cruise in History.  I just want to say how much fun we had and it was great to see so many friends enjoying this great event.  There was one bad part though, I think I gained about ten pounds and the casino wasn’t fair to me, Ha, Ha,……..Thank you to Crewser Entertainment, Brian Crews, Nancy Jeffares at Travlin’ Inc, Bunk Jeffares, Bo The Web Guy, Chad Sain, Jim Quick and Coastline, Band of Oz, Sea Cruz, Allen Brantley, Van Stuckley and Little John Thompson of Hip Pocket Band, Delane and Megan and everyone who helped put this mega event together!!!!!  I hope everyone got home safe and brought back a lot of pictures!  You can check out all the pictures on www.beachmusiconline.com and www.oceandrivehappens.com

I’ll be traveling over to Oak Island this Friday night the 9th, to visit my friends John and Katie and all the Society of Brunswick Shaggers for their shag club meeting and then Saturday Night, Valentines Day I will be at the Regency in Dunn, NC.  This is going to be a special way to celebrate Valentines with dinner at the BarringtonHouse in Dunn and then a night of dancing with yours truly at the Regency.  If you would like to join us call the Barrington House at 910-892-6980 and ask for Corky.  I’ve talked to a lot of people that’s going to be there and I’m looking forward to a great night.  And oh yea, if you,ve not had dinner at the Barrington House, you got to go, WOW the food is the best!!!!

Oasis And Mid Winter

It was a great weekend!!!!!!  Thank you toeveryone who came out to support the Third Friday of the month at Oasis Oyster Bar (Shag Night).  We had a great time and kept the dance floor packed with the best in Southern Soul, Rhythm and Blues and Carolina Beach Music.  And WOW, Fat Harold’s was packed for Mid Winter SOS.  I played with Sea Cruz on Saturday from 12 to 5 in the front room and it was wall to wall.  Sea Cruz was great and the crowd was unbelievable.  Then we traveled over to Shallotte to the Coastal Shag Club and played Saturday night.  Thank to Mike and Julie Rogers, Dean, Woody and all the gang, as always wehad a great time.  The Coastal Shag Club is just over a year old and already has over 67 members, congrats guys and gals…..keep up the good work!!!!!  Then Sunday back over to Fat Harold’s with the Holiday Band from 9 til close.  Oh Yeah the crowd was still wall to wall and the Holiday Band sounded better than ever.  If you’ve not seen their show lately you need to!!!  The, “Motown Review” was the best!!!!!  And Cher……well you’ll have to see it!! 

Then Brian Crews and I along with our favorite travle agent, Mrs. Nancy form Travel Inc. jumped on a plane and headed to Florida for a ship inspection aboard the Carnival Fascination.  This is the Ship, “The Beach Music Cruise” is going to be on and if you are going, you are not going to believe the fun that is on the way!!!  Everything’s in order and it’s almost time to set sail Beach Music Style!!!!!

Shaggin’ at Oasis Oyster Bar

This Friday night January the 16th is SHAG NIGHT at Oasis Oyster Bar in Clinton!!  This is always a great time to get out of the house for some great Seafood, Steamed Oysters, Steaks or great Chops and the best in Southern Soul, Rhythm & Blues and Carolina Beach Music.  Oasis has the best food anywhere around and provides all us shaggers a place to dance on the third Friday of every month!!!  I look forward to seeing you there and playing your request.  One of the biggest complaints I hear is, “there’s nowhere to go and shag” well thanks to Oasis Oyster Bar we now have a a great place to dance with the best food, drinks and atmosphere.  Come support the third Friday of the month and enjoy the Little Man of Beach Music, Joey Warren.

Time For The New Year

Hi everyone, wow was December a busy month!!!  I sincerely hope you and your family had a wonderful CHRISTMAS.  Christmas is the time we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and reflect on the people that we love and appreciate.  I just wanted to take the time and say Thank You to everyone who has supported me over the years, for all the kind words, for choosing my services for you events and for all the referrals.  It’s great to have such good friends in a business that I love.  Also, “HAPPY NEW YEAR” to all of you and I trust this year is going to be good for all of us. 

There’s so much going on this year and, I for one, am ready to get started.  This coming weekend I will be in the front room at Fat Harold’s, NorthMyrtle Beach from 8pm til close and Sunday I will be back at Fat Harold’s with the Castaway’s From 3pm til 7pm.  Then Next week is Mid-Winter SOS, and yes we have a busy weekend.  Friday Jan. the 16th is, “Shag Night” at the Oasis Oyster Bar in Clinton, NC, Saturday the 17thI’ll be in the front room at Fat Harold’s from 12pm til 5pm with Sea Cruz, Saturday night I’ll be playing for the Coastal Shag Club in Shallotte, NC and the Sunday returning to Fat Harold’s from 9pm til 2am with the Holiday Band.  WOW what a weekend that will be!!!  Check the schedule here on the website for the remaining schedule for Jan. 

OH Yeah, then it’s Cruise Time.  THE BEACH MUSIC CRUISE is going to be one of the Biggest Events to hit the Beach Music industry in a long time.  If you are going I can’t wait to see you and if you didn’t make it this year be sure to join us next year for an all inclusive to Cancun.  That’s right we have reserved a five star resort in Cancun and we have it ll to ourselves, with Coastline, Band of OZ, Gary Bass, Pat Paterson and yours truly!!!!  I will have all the information up on the second week of Feb.  You don’t want to miss this trip so start talking about it and be ready when the information post, because I promise it will also sell out!!

Hello Everybody!!!!!

I hope Everybody is doing well and getting geared up for the Holiday’s.  It’s been a BUSY month and we’ve stayed on the road, it seems like all of October and so far for November, BUT I LOVE IT!!!  I hope everybody’s enjoying the Gospel Train with the, “Little Reverend of Beach Music”  from 8am-10am every Sunday Morning on 94.9 the surf and www.949thesurf.com.  Playing classic Gospel Shag and those Gospel Tunes from your favorite Carolina Beach Music Artist.  This is a fun show to do and it’s got a great response.  I have a direct e-mail set up for the show, joey@949thesurf.com, this is for your comments, request or just to say hello, I would love to include you on the show.  Look forward to hearing from you!!  Also, thank you for tuning in to the live remotes I’ve been doing for the Surf, this has also been a fun experience and I love meeting all the new people who enjoy Beach Music as much as I do. 

I want to say congratulations to all the nominees and the winners at the 2008 Carolina Beach Music Awards.  This was another great weekend seeing all my friends, it’s like a big Family reunion.  Your, “Little Man of Beach Music” did not bring home the award for Club and Mobile DJ, Although the winner was very deserving.  Congrats to my Buddy Gary Bass for the win, Gary you the man and I was excited to see you bring it home.  But I’m getting geared up for next year!!!!  Also, a huge congratulations to Clinton’s own Tommy Black and Bloozefor winning smoothie of the year with, “Shadow Shaggin’”  Tommy, the band and the song truly deserved the award.  All in All the 2008 CBMA’s were great as always and I’m looking forward to next year.

NOW to business, it’s time to get your shag shoes and your appetite ready for the Third Friday of the Month at Oasis Oyster Bar.  That’s right it’s shag night at Oasis and make sure you come early to eat the best steaks and seafood in town.  This has become a very popular night for shaggers, thank you to Oasis for giving Clinton a home for us to enjoying shaggin’.  You know we’ve been doing this night for well over a year and it’s good to have somewhere to go right here in town and enjoy OUR music.  This Friday night is going to be big and I would love to see you there.  Bring a friend and enjoy your favorite tunes and request with the best in Carolina Beach Music and oh yea those Rhythm and Blues. 

Saturday we travel over to Seven Lakes for a wedding and then this Sunday we are off for the first Sunday in seven weeks.  I think I’ll grill out !!! HA HA.  Then week starts off on Tuesday at Decker’s in North Myrtle Beach for Celebrity Bar-tending.  I’ll be playing the Music and all the tips for the Bar-tenders goes to benefit the the, “Big Fish Shtick” and the UCP of Wilmington coming up on the 30th of November.  This is going to be a fun night and we’re going to raise a lot of money for a great cause.  Then comes one of my favorite days…..THANKSGIVING…..”Thank you Rebecca nd Mom for cooking for the short fat man’.  I truly hope each and everyone of you have a great Thanksgiving with you families and don’t eat to much, Because the,”Little Man of Beach Music” is going to be with the Band of OZ Thanksgiving night at the Regency, (old Club Faces) in Dunn, NC for the Annual Turkey Party.  This is a do not miss event, every year it get’s better and better.  You can get tickets by calling Warren Oil Co. at 910-230-4039 or pick them up at Hinson’s Used Tires in Clinton.  See you there!!

After Thanksgiving Day, you know comes the biggest shopping day of the year.  I will be doing a live remote for 94.9 the Surf on Friday 11-28 at THE Furniture Warehouse in Shallotte, NC.  I will be there from 12 noon until 3pm on the Air, so stop by and see me and check out THE Furniture Warehouse.  Friday night I will be back at the Oasis for what has become one of the most popular nights of the month, “Country, Rock and Retro”.  Taking you back to the past, playing everything from KC and the Sunshine Band to Hank Williams Jr. to Rehab to ACDC to Tone Loc.  WOW, it’s a Party.  A little something for everybody.  Once again that’s Friday the 28th at Oasis Oyster Bar.

Saturday the 29th I will be at HB Spokes in North Myrtle Beach for the Beach Music and Bar-B-Que Festival along with Jim Quick and Coastline, Mark Roberts and the Breeze and the CWB.  This promises to be a good day with the entertainment, food and money to be raised to benefit BECCA.  IF you’ve never been to HB Spoke this is a perfect venue for a festival, come check us out!!!!!   Then we travel over to Pete’s Landing in North Myrtle Beach for a Live Remote with 94.9 the Surf. I’ll be there along with Ray Scott and the Surf Team.

Sunday November the 30th Will go down in history as one of the best events in 2008.  The Big Fish Shtick with Coastline, Hip Pocket, Daniel Parish and your Truly.  The event will take place on Wrightsville Ave. in Wilmington, NC at the Triangle Lounge.  Tickets are $20.00 andthe proceeds go to benefit UCP Wilmington.  This is the second annual and there will be plenty of food and good music.  If you need a ticket just drop me a e-mail.  The event starts at 1pm and runs to 6pm.

The Weekend Was Great

Hello everyone I trust your weekend was great, the weather was perfect!!  Lat Friday night we traveled up to Creedmore and played the rehersal Dinner for Cliff Brame and Leanne McInnis at South Granville Country Club.  This was a great evening.  Everybody danced and had a good time and oh yea, the hospitality was the best.  Congratulations to Cliff and Leanne.

Hey The Little Man of Beach Music was off Saturday night, so we took advantage of it and joined Barry Hooker and his family for Andy and Shannon’s wedding in Carolina Beach.  The wedding was on the beach with Little John Thompson playing the music and Jim Quick officiating.  Then over to the club house for the reception and Jim Quick and Coastline.  Barry I tip my hat to you, this was a first class engagement and I know everybody enjoyed themselves.  Thanks for a wonderful night.

We left Carolina Beach and headed down to Myrtle Beach for the Live remote at Fillet’s with 94.9 the Surf.  I want to say thank you for everyone who came out, was tuned in or logged on to www.949thesurf.com.  We could not asked for a better day, the weather was perfect and we had a packed house.  The food at Fillet’s was unbelievable.  Here’s the good news, I’ll be back at Fillet’s doing the live remote for the next two Sunday’s from 4pm until 8pm.  So if you want to get out on Sunday afternoon and come sit on the deck, listen to some great Beach Music, eat some of the best food anywhere and not get home to late, come out and Join us.  Fillet’s is located on Sea Mountain Hwy next to the Swing Bridge in North Myrtle Beach.  But if you can’t make it just tune in to 94.9 the Surf FM or log on to www.949thesurf.com.  Also go to the surf’s website this week and read all about the GOSPEL TRAIN program on Sunday Mornings.  The information should be up in a couple of days.  It’s big news and I’m excited.  Until next time, always remember, Dance Like No-body’s Watching!!!!

Hello, Hello

Fall Field Day took place last Wedensday at Sampson Community College and I want to say thank you for the hospitality and to Joy Rogers who hired me for the entertainment. It was fun and so many students participated. Also, thank you Len for all the help and support.

It was an Oasis Weekend and it was great. Friday night was COUNTRY, ROCK and RETRO at the Oasis and it was the party that has become the “Must GO To Party Of The Month”. It’s just one of those nights that’s everybody unwinds, sings and has a grat time. And then on Saturday Hobton High School Class of 1993 got together for their 15 year class reunion. I want to sy thank you to the Kimbro’s for having me and I know everyone had a good night. As always the Bartenders were the best and the food, unbelievable.

I want to thank everyone who nominated the “Little Man of Beach Music” for the 2008 Carolina Beach Music Awards. I was nominated in two categories, Club & Mobile DJ and Internet Radio Show along with Keith Houston and SouthernSoul.com. I’m very excited to be in these categories and really appreciate all your support. The awards weekend is the second weekend in November. If your not a member, you can’t vote this year. Can you ever forgive me….I have to use that same ole excuse….BUSY, BUSY, BUSY…but hey that’s a good thing!!!! The ending half of August was great. Playing in Greensboro, Apex and Clinton. I want to say thank you to the Frahm’s for having me at Sedge Field Country Club, they’re party was unbelievable, the guest, the view and oh yea, the Lamborghini!!!!! This was a great group of people and they knew how to party. Thanks Chad! I also want to thank Rock Kershaw for having me at Historical Downtown Apex for Shaggin at the Depot. This was a huge success and the Bass Lake Area Shag Society played a major roll! The BLASS is some of the nicest people I’ve ever met and they know how to have fun with the dance. They did a great demonstration for the town of Apex and also gave free shag lessons to everyone in attendance. Thanks Guys!!!!! What can I say about COUNTRY, ROCK and Retro at the Oasis Oyster Bar in Clinton. This was a PARTY…..of course everyone knows on the third Friday of the month we have shag night at the Oasis but when the fourth Friday of the Month rolls around it’s sing along and party time to the songs everyone knows. As always thank you to Keith, Beth, Mark, Chester and the Staff at Oasis Oyster Bar in Clinton. And by the way if you have not had dinner at the Oasis, you don’t know what you’re missing. The best food around for many many miles. Great job guys.

NOW FOR SEPTEMBER…..WOW it was huge and very busy to say the least!! YES oh Yes Mr. Cranberry Got Married. I want to say congratulations to Aaron and Brooke Minnich. The wedding was on the beach the same weekend tropical storm Hanna came in. But believe it or not the wedding was perfect and the reception was one for the record books (in more than one way). Then Comes SOS Fall Migration and I’m still trying to recover. Yes oh Yes I was playing in the Back Room (Family Room) at Fat Harold’s with my Aunt Brenda (the Best bartender in the World) This was a great week, you get to see all your beach music loving friends from everywhere and everyone comes together for one reason…..the music. I was at Fat Harold’s the first Friday night of SOS, Sunday night, and Closed the Back room on Monday Night. Then on Tuesday The “Insane” Chad Sain and myself along with King Tyrone and the Graveyard Ramblers hosted the Ocean Drive Happens Party at HOTO’S. Despite the rain it was the party of the week. If you were there you will remember it for a lifetime. Phil, Bonnie, Becky and Capt. Crain I love you and Chad you tha Man Bro!! On the Last Friday of SOS was the KHP Release Party and this was the best ever. Keith Houston with KHP, WOW all the artists were great!!! Thanks for all you do for the industry. NOW FOR THE BIG NEWS…….The “Little Man of Beach Music” has joined Carolina’s Beach Music and Classic Hit Station 94.9 The Surf. Oh Yea… I joined Ray Scott at Pete’s Landing on Wed. of SOS for the 94.9 Beach Party Live Remote and then again on Sunday At Fillet’s. I just want to say thank you to the owners of 94.9 Harvey and Selene for bringing me on board. Also to Ray, Tedd, Billy and all the Surf team, I look forward to working with such a great group of people. I will keep everyone posted on when I will be on the air and if you can’t pick the show up on the radio you can log on at www.949thesurf.com.

I want to say thank you to everyone who came out to Oasis for the Shag night on this past Friday, it was a good one and I appreciate your support. Jessie I can’t dance with my wife anymore after you showed her how the shag is really done!!!!!!!!
