First off let me apologize for taking so long to post…..WOW it’s been busy!!  So many things are going on…it’s going to be a great summer!!!  I want to say thank you to all the folks from Causeway Shag Club, I always enjoy playing for ya!  This time we were at Margarita’s in Topsail Beach and yes it was packed.  We all had a great time and enjoyed the night. once again guys, thanks for the hospitality.

June the 20th is the third Friday of the month and you know what that means…. OASIS SHAG NIGHT!!!!  Come out and enjoy a night of Beach Rhythm and Blues with Yours Truly.  My normal start time is 9pm but just for the 20th we moved the starting time to 10pm due to a private party.  Come out and support the Shag Night at the Oasis Oyster Bar in Clinton folks, they have supported the Shag Community for over a year!!!

Also, for all of you who are local, I’ll be Playing and head emcee for the 40th annual Spivey Corner’s Hollering Contest coming up June the 21st.  I’ll be joined by Mark Roberts and Breeze along with many other entertainers, this is always a great event.  Bring the kids and you chairs and spend the day with us.

Then on the 22nd of June I will traveling over to the Varina Sprots Bar for the Bass Lake Shag Club!  I Can’t wait to see everyone!!

It was like a Mid-Week Shag Party (from the former Sandbar in Clayton, NC) REUNION!!!!  Wow it was good to see so many people last Saturday Night for the Customer Appreciation Day at the N & N Sports Bar with the Johnson County Area Shag Association.  We had a great time, the food, music, and atmosphere was the best.  I want to say thank you to Donnie who is the manager and all the staff at N & N Sports Bar and Grill. 

We’er on the road to Orental Beach tonight, then in the opposite direction for a wediding in Roxboro on Saturday and ending up the weekend at Myrtle Beach.  Have a Great Weekend, See Ya Soon!!!!!!

Alright it’s the third Friday of the Month and It’s time to shag at the Oasis Oyster Bar.  This night has become one that everbody looks forward to and we want your face in the place!!!!!  the music satrts at 9:00 and goes until 1:00am.  Come early and have one of the best dinners Clinton has to offer at the Sandpiper or the Famous Oasis Oyster Bar. 

Then on Saturday night it’s my first time at the N&N Sports Bar in Smithfield.  It’s located in the strip mall just before turning in the Carolina Pottery.  This is going to fun, it’s brand new and the bar is very nice.  Come hang out with The manager, Donnie and the “Little Man of Beach Music for N&N Sports Bar appreciation night with free food.  Show your support and I’ll see you there.  If anyone needs directions don’t hesitate to call me at 910-385-7424.  See you there, Let’s make it a SHAG WEEKEND!!!!!!

Hello everyone it’s good t.como be back on the blog page and talk to you once again!!!  It’s been a busy two weeks starting with the Junior Senior Prom At Croatan High School in Morehead City Friday May the 2nd.  This was my third year in a row playing for this great group of kids, just want to say thank you to Carol and Mike Mann and Principle Bottoms for having me back…see ya next year!!!!  Then I was off to a great wedding and reception for Ashley Mathis.  This was one on the greats, everybody had a great time and the atmosphere was perfect at the BarringtonHouse in Dunn, NC.  This past weekend started with the Cape Fear Shag Club in Carolina Beach and wow, this shag club dances the whole night!  Thanks for the hospitality and the wonderful comments.  The Shag Club holds there events at the Carolina Beach Shag Club, Fran Johnny and Julie always does a great job as host.  Remember folks if you need a NICE facility to rent in the Carolina Beach Area, the Carolina Shag Club is your spot!!  Saturday night we over in Fayetteville for the Fayetteville Area Shag Association.  This was my first time there and it was their big reverse raffle, which was a great success.  Want to say thank you to Rickey and Janet Price for having us and congratulations on their recent marriage.

Yes, I made a road trip and it was great, music, friends and about 12,000 crazy beach music fans.  It started with our third Friday of the month, “shag night” at Oasis Oyter Bar and I want to say thank you to everyone who came out, and a special thank you to Mike and Annett Seals for your continued support, it was a great time!!  We do this every third Friday of the month and folks, this is your place to shag in Clinton.  We need  continued support for this monthly event to secure, “our” place to shag and enjoy great beach music.  The next night I was back at Oasis for Hobton’s 1998 Class Reunion, celebrating 10 years and the crowd was great.  It was packed and everybody had a great time, want to say thank you to Brandon Kimbro, I’m ready to do it again in five years.  Then off to Oak Island to the St. James Plantaion for their Sunday Night Social.  WOW was this a party, everything to the best in beach to the best of the 70’s.  These folks know how to party!!  Leaving straight from Oak Island we headed to the Shag Capital of the world, North Myrtle Beach to join in on Spring SOS.  I enjoyed seeing so many people whoI haven’t seen in a while and playing my favorite shag club ever, the legendary Fat Harold’s.  I played the back room (Family Room) Monday night and Wed. night with a wall to wall crowd.  Thank you as always to everyone who came out including some of my people, Phil, Bonnie Bill, Becky and everybody in the Causeway Shag Club, Jeff and Janet and all my friends.  Allow me to back up and talk about Tues. at HOTO’s with King Tyrone and the Graveyard Ramblers.  NOW THIS WAS A SHOW….of course with the new CD coming out during SOS and Mama’s Drinking Liquor Again being one of the Hottest songs out in a long time, King Tyrone was in rare form.  I tip my hat to the King and all the band, this was one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time.  I picked up the CD and loved it, I have been playing it ever since I got it.  Before I left the Beach I spent Thursday at the Spanish Gallion with Chad Sain Hosting the KHP Pre Release Party.  Chad you the Man Brother!!  This was a great event with so many artist that performed andthe crowd in attendance.  Now it was time for me to head to the Pre Party for the 10th Annual Triangle Beach Music Festival.  It kicked off around6pm with yours truly and the Revlers at the Cleveland Draft House.  We went until 2am and tried to get a little rest before the big day on Saturday.  Here we go…..12000 people, great weather and the best beach music in the world.  WOW it was great.  This is the biggest party of the year and Saturday was no exception.  I tip my hat to T&R Baxstage Production for a job Well Done.  Then we went back to the Cleveland Draft House for the Famous Post Party.  Non other than The Little Man of Beach Music and Jim Quick and Coastline back together again!!!  We closed it up in style and enjoyed every minute of it.  Jim and the Band put on an unbelievable show and the crowd loved it.  We close it down and at this point my voice was gone!!!  What a week we had, looking forward to doing it again next year.

Once again, the TBMF has arranged some parties on Friday Night before the festival and Saturday Night after the festival.   Friday Night, I start things off at the Cleveland Draft House at 6:00, which very close to the hotel, playing before the band and their breaks.  There will be a shuttle bus provided for transportation.  Look for a band called the Revelers to get started outside around 7:00 and play till 11:00.  I’ve not seen these guys yet, but I heard they do a great job bringing the house down!!  I will continue the party at 11:00 on the inside.  After a day on the farm enjoying the party of the year, the 10th annual TBMF, plan to head back over to the Cleveland Draft House for the post party featuring Your’s Truly and Jim Quick and Coastline.  You can call the Draft House for more information at (919) 771-2337 for more details about the Pre and Post Parties.   See you there for the biggest weekend in Beach Music.
